The author of more than three dozen books, Ray Bradbury is one of the most celebrated fiction writers of our time. Some of his best-known works are Fahrenheit 451, The Martian Chronicles, The Illustrated Man, Dandelion Wine, and Something Wicked This Way Comes. He has written for the theater and cinema, including the screenplay for John Huston s classic adaptation of Moby Dick, and has been nominated for an Academy Award. He adapted sixty-five of his stories for television s The Ray Bradbury Theatre and won an Emmy for his teleplay of The Halloween Tree. In 2000, Mr. Bradbury was honored by the National Book Foundation with a medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. He is the winner of the 2004 National Medal of Arts, and the 2007 Pulitzer Prize Special Citation. He lives in Los Angeles.
