Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is the most common and usually most severe form of muscular dystrophy. It is an inherited disorder, caused by a defective gene and rapidly progresses to muscular weakness and skeletal deformities, which contribute to frequent breathing and heart disorders.
