Written by two accomplished Canadian women, this inspirational guide helps women redefine their life paths and find new meaning and direction at mid-life.

“What will I do for the rest of my life? And what’s next?” Many women are asking these most pressing questions. Whether capping a successful career and looking for a new challenge, finding themselves unexpectedly downsized or emerging from the home and looking for a new start in today’s workforce, women are searching for purpose in their work and at leisure.

In Dreams Have No Expiry Date, Laurie Gottlieb and Deanna Rosenswig show how mid-life is actually the best time for women to live their dreams, now that they have the freedom, emotional resources, self-knowledge, time, wisdom and energy to do so. In a step-by-step way, using interviews, research and exercises designed to stimulate thinking and increase self-awareness, Gottlieb and Rosenswig help women articulate and then achieve their dreams. The text is peppered with inspirational stories and anecdotes from women interviewed about their process, their learning and their dreams.

Gottlieb and Rosenswig never underestimate the complexities of each woman’s life, but instead help women work with their skills and abilities to chart a course for the next 30, 40 or even 50 years of their lives.

Recensione:
"Dreams Have No Expiry Date is about identifying the changes that will take place, coming to terms with it, and realizing that it’s never too late to start all over. Once the new course is charted, the book provides the strategies and tools to make it happen."
The Suburban (Quebec)

“Although this book targets ‘midlife’ women, it can be picked up by any generation. It’s so refreshing in its honesty, humor and humanity. And with few role models out there, it offers us real examples and guides to ‘move forward, in any direction’! Go for it!”
—Ann Medina, broadcaster

“Insightful and inspirational, Dreams Have No Expiry Date is a must-read for those who are just beginning to dream or those who are building on their dreams. This self-help book wakes the reader up and encourages her to act. Dreams Have No Expiry Date is the perfect road map for a bright and ambitious woman of any age.”
—Judith Shamian, RN, Ph.D, President and CEO, the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Canada

“This book is a manual for living. It is a practical and inspirational guide on how to convert dreams into realities. It is great for women — or anyone — making transitions in life and work.”
—Nancy Barry, President, Women’s World Banking

“The authors of this book must have overheard every soul-searching conversation I’ve had with my women friends since our mid-forties. Their take on how best to live the last decades of our lives is both refreshing and inspiring. They are particularly attuned to women’s unique ways of knowing and the importance of process, intuition, and the ability to envision ways around obstacles rather than to think in terms of failure. There is value in this book for every woman who has ever pondered — and, I must say, every man as well.”
—Marjorie Anderson, Ph.D., co-editor of Dropped Threads and Dropped Threads 2
