Since his youth, John Dibbs has been interested in all things aviation, being weaned on a diet of Airfix kits and plastic cement in the attic of the family home, north west London. Discovering photography in his teens, John discarded the plastic air force for cameras and an assortment of lenses, sharpening his technique during summer holidays spent in Wales near RAF Bawdry. Trained in a central London photographic and design studio, John began working as a freelance aviation photographer, forging strong links with the burgeoning warbird fraternity of Duxford and North Weald. John now works as chief photographer for Warbirds Worldwide magazine, and is closely affiliated with several historical aircraft organizations in Essex and Cambridgeshire.
Tony Holmes, originally from Perth, Western Australia, has lived and worked in London for several years. Trained as a photojournalist at the Curtin University of Technology, Tony has covered the operations of many air forces across the globe, as well as working extensively with the US Navy in the Pacific. Tony has written several books for Osprey Aerospace and is also a regular contributor to a number of aviation periodicals both in Britain and Australia.
