When Siklos's biography of one of Canada's best-known businessmen was first published, in 1995, the press baron's story was all rise: fame, fortune, a peerage, a glamorous spouse, private jets, and homes on two continents as head of Hollinger International, owner of the Telegraph newspaper group in London, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Jerusalem Post and other papers. The revised edition details the scandalous fall that followed--Black's ouster from the company he founded, and his investigation by the FBI and SEC. New material includes a section with details about the scandal based on interviews with Black and all the members of the committee of the Hollinger board that gave him the boot.
