A young woman and her service dog learn to trust each other.

In this delightful true story told through a first-person narrative, a sight-impaired young woman describes how her service dog, Nadine, loves to play tricks around the house. From hiding dirty laundry to avoiding her harness, Nadine is quite mischievous! Their first day together as a team is the focus of this story. Through the struggles to get ready, the sheer enjoyment of the winter day, and the scary moments along the way, Nadine proves herself trustworthy and reliable-that is, until they return home and she gets into mischief again! Illustrated with crisp, humorous drawings in wintery colors, this book provides a fascinating glimpse into life with a guide dog.

Dalla seconda/terza di copertina:

The relationship between a blind person and her canine companion is explored in this charming and informative tale of a playful young dog. This true story set during the onset of a major snowstorm demonstrates the mixture of serious work ethic and playfulness that these valuable animals often possess.

Nadine, the working dog, never forgets her very important job as the eyes for her owner; but like any dog, she enjoys playing with her mistress. Her antics are funny and unpredictable! Nadine gleefully pulls smelly laundry out of the hamper, hides under furniture, and frolics about when it comes time to get her harness on.

Will Nadine prove herself trustworthy and reliable on their first outing as a team? Follow along as author Carol Chiodo Fleischman takes young readers on the journey with her, just as she experienced it with the real Nadine many years ago.
