Neil Wilson naci� en Escocia donde ha residido buena parte de su vida. Vive en Perthshire y ha sido escritor a tiempo completo desde 1988, trabajando en m�s de 80 gu�as para diferentes editoriales, incluidos los t�tulos de Lonely Planet de pa�ses como Escocia, Inglaterra, Irlanda y Praga. Entusiasta de las actividades al aire libre, desde ni�o Neil es un activo senderista, ciclista de monta�a, marinero, snowboarder, pescador de ca�a y escalador, y ha subido y recorrido a pie los cuatro continentes, incluidos los ascensos al Jebel Toubkal (Marruecos), el monte Kinabalu (Borneo), el Old Man of Hoy en las Islas Orcadas (Escocia) y la cara noreste del Half Dome en el valle de Yosemite (California). Como la mayor�a de autores de Lonely Planet, Neil entr� en la edici�n de gu�as de viaje por accidente.
