"Das können nur wenige: fast alles. Aber was Unterhaltungsliteratur angeht, ist Charlotte Link so eine. Sie kann historische Schmökerschinken. Und Gesellschaftsromane. Und ziemlich schlaue Thriller bringt sie auch noch zustande. ´Der fremde Gast´ fällt in die letzte Kategorie: Rebecca Brandt hat gerade ihren Mann verloren, die Frau ist verzweifelt, Selbstmord scheint der einzige Ausweg. Dann aber taucht ein alter Bekannter ihres Gatten auf, im Schlepptau zwei junge Studenten, nette Leute, so scheint´s.
