L'autore:
Laura Hillenbrand, seit 1989 unter anderem für die renommierten »Magazine Equus«, »American Heritage« oder »Turf and Sport Digest« tätig, gilt als die amerikanische Expertin für Galopprennsport. Ihr American-Heritage-Artikel über Seabiscuit wurde mit dem »Eclipse Award« geehrt, der höchsten Auszeichnung, die für Verdienste um den Vollblutrennsport verliehen wird. Laura Hillenbrand lebt und arbeitet derzeit in Washington D.C.
