Inscribed first printing of this lavish collection of photographs of the buildings of Julia Morgan, the architect of the Hearst castle and one of the first woman to graduate in civil engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. The rear flap of this book notes that it is "the first substantial book ever devoted to [Morgan's] career." This copy is signed by the author Sara Holmes Boutelle and inscribed by the photographer Richard Barnes. 11.25'' x 9.75''. Original blue cloth boards. Original unclipped (no price) color pictorial dust jacket. Inscribed by Barnes on title page, additionally signed by Boutelle. Jacket with mild edgewear, one tiny scuff. Front board a touch bowed, front hinge with small crack but holding firm. Bright and clean. Near fine in near fine dust jacket.
