Novel is partially biographical fantasy about a composer, fleeing an empty existence in New York, takes a journey with his mistress to the remote upper reaches of a South American river, imagining he is retracing the lost steps of mankind. CONDITION Burgundy bds with crisp gilt title (unworn) 278 pages. Nice crisp copy with newpaper review of the book laid in, nice blank Whistler book plate inside front, atmospheric spotting to edges. DJ has toned spine with small chips to spine ends and tips, not price clipped. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
