A novel by an Oxford-educated Ugandan anthropologist, also published as Africa Answers Back. Politically, Nyabongo was a pan-Africanist who collaborated with African American scholar, author, and activist W.E.B. DuBois. There are periodic chips in the leather at the spine ends (Emma, Part II, a little more so), and the underlying boards are exposed occasionally along the edges. The spines show very minor sunning. There are several areas where the text blocks are only just beginning to crack, however the books remain very sturdy.
