Kaufman "with warm regards." S. J. Kaufman (1886-1957) wrote and directed early silent films, and later produced musical reviews on Broadway. SOUTH PACIFIC was a huge hit on Broadway, running for 1, 925 performances, and was later adapted into the famous 1958 Oscar-winning film starring Mitzi Gaynor and Rossano Brazzi, directed by Joshua Logan. RARE INSCRIBED, especially to a known colleague. [WITH:] a 4" by 5" signed photo of Mitzi Gaynor in bathing suit leaning against a palm tree. Also included, a short Autograph Letter on letterhead with stamped 1956 envelope, Signed from Oscar Hammerstein to a well-wisher. Inscribed by Author(s).
