A look at the making of the classic film musical South Pacific, based on the novel by James Michener, and adapted from the Broadway musical play by Joshua Logan, music by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, directed by Joshua Logan, starring Rossano Brazzi, Mitzi Gaynor, John Kerr, Ray Walston, Juanita Hall, and France Nuyen. Illustrated with scenes from the film, behind the scenes photos of the actors and production staff, drawings, and sketches. Hardbound, 8 1/2Ó x 12 1/4Ó. Very good copy with a touch of wear to the top and bottom of the spine and with some slight wear to the corners. The film won an Oscar for Best Sound, and was nominated for Best Cinematography, Color (Leon Shamroy) and Best Music, Scoring of a Musical Picture. It also received Golden Globe nominations for Best Motion Picture - Musical and Best Motion Picture Actress - Comedy / Musical (Mitzi Gaynor).
