Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Gilt lettering is darkened.

Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Light tanning to spine and edges. The unclipped dust jacket has heavy edge wear, with tears, chips and areas of loss. Moderate tanning to spine and edges.

In very good turquoise cloth boards with gilt decorated front of man reclining reading a book by church under a tree to front and gilt titles to back strip. The covers are a little wobbly at front from hinge damage, clean and with sound edges. Tanned free end papers; name in ink on front paste down. Lightly tanned and foxed cut edges. The text block is in very good condition, tightly bound, with mostly unmarked clean pages (last two pages of Index are foxed) and bright b/w plates. No dedications etc. Without jacket.
