Libro Prima edizione
Condizione: Very Good. Paris: Musée d'Orsay and Skira-Flammarion, 2011. First Edition. Small Quarto (22x22x2cm); 223pp, including index. Relentlessly and vividly illustrated in over-luscious color throughout. Entirely in French. Light signs of edgewear to wrappers; card spine uncreased and uncracked. Textblock unmarred and unmarked. This is the French re-imagining of the catalog for the exhibit "The Cult of Beauty: The Aesthetic Movement 1860-1900" first presented at the Victoria and Albert in 2011. It reappeared in a sexier version at the Musée d'Orsay 13 September 2011-15 January 2012 (whence this catalog), and would eventually make its way to San Francisco later in 2012. Gorgeously reproduced paintings and associated decorative arts from the era of James McNeill Whistler, Aubrey Beardsley, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Edward Burne-Jones, William Morris, and Mr. Wilde himself. A certain amount of ostentatious, yet somehow allowable, nudity, since the eros-afflicted women and eros-inspiring men who served as models are often garbed in retro-classical or pseudo-Renaissance garments that have a peculiar knack for falling off.

Libro
Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. In collaboration with the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Musée d'Orsay and the Fine Art Museum of San Francisco, 2011. Small 4to, pictorial paperback, 224 pages, profusely illustrated. In very good condition, with only minor scruffs and bumps to the top edge of spine and front board. Catalog of the exhibit that took place between 2011 and 2012 at the aforementioned museums - this copy likely comes from the Musée d'Orsay batch since it includes a card with thanks from their management.
