Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Ella Minnow Pea is an epistolary novel set in the fictional island of Nollop situated off the coast of South Carolina and home to the inventor the pangram The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog. Now deceased, the islanders have erected a monument to honor their hero, but one day a tile with the letter z falls from the statue. The leaders interpret the falling tile as a message from beyond the grave and the letter is banned from use. On an island where the residents pride themselves on their love of language, this is seen as a tragedy. They are still reeling from the shock, when another tile falls and then another. Mark Dunn takes us on a journey against time through the eyes of Ella Minnow Pea and her family as they race to find another phrase containing all the letters of the alphabet to save them from being unable to communicate. Eventually, the only letters remaining are LMNOP, when Ella finally discovers the phrase that will save their language.

Softcover. Condizione: Good. To the outside world Julie Davis has it allwealth, a doting husband, an apartment on the Upper West Side, and an adorable new baby boy. But underneath the perfect exterior, she is paralyzed by an over-whelming sense of shame and inadequacy.A Mouthful of Air begins a few weeks after Julies suicide attempt and on the eve of her sons first birthday. Desperate to lead a "normal" life, Julie tries to be thankful for the good things, but her emotional demons persist. In the midst of her struggle, she discovers that she is pregnant for a second time, and is forced to come off the medication that has given her the buoyancy to survive.Through sparse, elegant prose, Amy Koppelmans brutally honest portrayal of family and self shows the reader that real problems are indiscriminate of money or birthright. A Mouthful of Air brings to light the complexity and fragility of the human psyche.

Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Brothers Adam and David Remler share the bond unique to identical twins, connected in all aspects of their lives and content to be so. Until Ariel Warning, a beautiful young woman with suspect qualities, comes to work for the brother s film company and begins a relationship with David while secretly pursuing Adam. When Adam falls to temptation, his sense of self is shattered. Adam goes out into the world to learn just who this mysterious woman is, seeking to protect his brother even as he betrays him. His inquiry takes him from the heartland of America to the Far East, becoming a journey of self-invention as much as a fact-finding mission. Every new facet of Ariel s past draws Adam in deeper, turning his investigation into a journey to solve the ultimate mystery: his problematic lost self.
