"Second Printing Before Publication" (stated) of a mixed 1st/Book Club Edition. This copy of the second printing before publication has the boards and dust jacket of the bce. Very Fine in an As New Dust Jacket. Appears Unread. The Text Block is clean, white, tight, straight and square with no markings of any kind. Libro Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. 1st Edition. Published by Alfred A. Knopf, 1992. First edition stated. Original acetate dust jacket is scuffed and subtly scratched, as is common. Cover titling is fully readable but rubbed. Dark discoloration to semi-perforated flap folds with a very small hole or tear as middle of front flap fold. $23 price is unclipped. Pictorial wraps are rather clean with just some very mild scuffing to front cover, hardly noticeable. Reading crease to front cover, subtler reading crease to back cover. Edges of text block are foxed, not uncommon, with some soiling, and some foxing to pastedowns around edges. Some discoloration to very edges of text block. Interior is otherwise clean except for pages 335 - 348 or so, which have some stains from splashed or spilled liquid, mostly page 337-338, the rest just at the very edge. This true first edition was read and enjoyed and is priced as such, but still collectible.
