Libro Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. First Edition. McSweeney's Quarterly Concern is a San Francisco-based literary magazine publishing fiction, non-fiction, poetry, photography, comics and other interesting literary material. Founded in 1988, it is considered one of America's leading literary periodicals with work by well-known authors as well as by still-to-be-recognized artists. Each issue is designed individually; there have been hard covers and soft covers; an issue with magnetic binding; one containing nothing but comics and another that looked like junk mail. This issue, "32," began with an editorial request to about a dozen writers to travel some place in the world -- big city or small, sleepy town -- and send back a story set in that spot fifteen years in the future in 2024 AD. Ten writers sent back stories pretty grim on a municipal level but with ordinary men and women persistently carving out a life. Robyn O'Neil created the wrap-around illustration for the covers and end papers. "32" is a First Printing, First Edition. About 7 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches, 258 pages including notes on the contributors, in pictorial, primarily white, paper-covered boards with gold-stamped lettering on spine and both covers. Bottom end of spine is bumped, as is the upper corner of the back cover, o/w boards and text are complete, clean and unmarked; binding is tight and square. No tears, no creasing or soiling. A very decent issue of this always surprising, unconventional magazine.
