Faint creasing to the front cover, near the spine. Light overall toning. Page edges foxed. First pages and inside of the covers lightly foxed as well. Otherwise clean and free of marks or writing. SIGNED by the author on the half title page, where he has inscribed it to Lovejoy, as follows: "For Tom Lovejoy We'll meet in Hawaii aloha Gavan Daws". Overall good condition. Dr. Lovejoy was an influential ecologist, field biologist, and activist; former head of the Amazon Biodiversity Center, World Wildlife Fund, and advisor to the United Nations and Smithsonian Institution. He is credited with introducing the term 'biological diversity' to the mainstream environmental movement. In addition, he was a passionate collector of books on the natural world.
