Photoplay edition, 8vo, pp. viii, [4], 511, [5]; frontispiece and 6 plates from scenes from the movie starring John Barrymore; a very good copy in original red cloth stamped in black on upper cover and spine, in a compromised and fragile dust jacket with chips and tears but with very minor loss of lettering. Verso of jacket with copious ads for other G & D titles. The novel was first published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1925. Later printings of it, as here, have the note on the title page "Profusely illustrated with scenes from the talking picture a Warner Brother and Vitaphone Production starring John Barrymore" which appeared in theatres in 1930. Very light foxing at the margins of the Ahab illustration; wrappers tanned with some light use. Order form and flyer announcing "no discount whatsoever will be allowed on these books" laid in.
